Carsington Water, Visitor Centre: Carsington Water, Visitor Centre, Ashbourne, United Kingdom
Now open to the public!
71 miles of challenging cycling route, over 7,000 ft of climbing, with the highest elevation at 1,684ft.
Starting at Carsington Water, the route heads north-west towards Longnor steadily gaining elevation as you go. Next, cyclists head northwards through Buxton, up on the way to the Goyt Valley, to The Cat and Fiddle pub, taking in a section of the famous climb (as seen on the tour of Britain), then it’s a steep descent onto Allgreave. With a little respite, it’s then a climb up to the second highest part of the route and then back into Longnor for your next feed stop. On the way back to Carsington the road remains lumpy before you have a steep and fast descent back to base, for a well-deserved rest and a bite to eat.
You will need access to your own or a ride partner's GPS device.
Start times and an information pack will be emailed prior to the event.
